Apollo
Projects
Apollo is composed of four projects, all focused on one specific thinking skill. These projects allow free range over a variety of subjects, however, all projects must include the following three subjects: Social studies, English, and Art. In differing or similar platforms, the three subjects will coherently work together to make a whole piece. When the project is due, a grand presentation will occur in front of all three Apollo teachers where you will present your process and how you based your project around the thinking skill. |
Process
The projects are due every three weeks, giving the student enough time to plan, create, and execute their realistic idea in mind. The majority of the time, work is done individually with occasional conversation(s) with peers about how to further your project. Once every project is completed, a "mini- project" is introduced to the class. This is done individually or in a group, either with a new topic or furthering the previous thinking skill. |
Production
With every project, comes steps to success. To begin your project, one must come up with an idea and collaborate with others in order to further the idea(s). Once a creative plan is made, meeting with the Apollo teachers is very important in order to succeed. 1 on 1 meetings are permitted with each teacher as your project progresses. Scheduling a meeting varies, from 10 minutes to 30. This allows exponential growth in the creation of the project. |
